The school for 2010 will not be open during the days: 01/01, 21/03, 24/03, 05/05, 26/05, 25/08, 25/12. Also we will be closed from 25/5 to 31/12
The School: The school is located in The Old Fire Station, a nice Victorian building located 10 minutes walk from the city centre. It’s certified by the British Council, ISO 9001 and it is a member of English UK.
In the school there are many nationalities (i.e. Italian, Iranian, French, Chinese, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, etc) so there is a truly international environment.
Facilities and services: 6 classrooms, welfare room, IT SUITE and WI-FI, student kitchen, garden, library, additional self study programmes, social activities. Optional exchange meetings with local students.
Intensive English Course: The course will consist of 20 h a week including grammar, discussion, writing and vocabulary. Teachers are professional and enthusiastic. At your arrival you will take a placement test to check your level and then a tour around the city with your new colleagues. The course is 9:30-13:30 or 12.30-17.00 (with a break of 30 minutes) and from Monday to Friday. The school remains open from 9:30-5:30
Accommodation:
- - self catering: you will share a flat or house with other international students. The houses are located close to the city centre and the school.
- - home stay: you will be hosted by an Irish family and all meals are provided.
The City: Derry is also called "the Walled City", which means this is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Northern Ireland. Its streets, full of past and present history, will tell you about its people through the murals, but also the festivals, theatres, live music and pubs. It is the fourth biggest city in the whole island and it's hard to find someone from abroad in the streets, so it is a perfect place to learn English. The nearby countryside is also impressive; you can visit from the Giants Causeway to the County of Donegal. Unforgettable beaches and landscapes are assured.
