


Intensive Access Course.
This course is designed specifically for international students who wish to study at a University or college in the UK. The course provides students with all the language and academic skills required to deal with the demands of studying at this level. The course consists of six modules.
Module 1 – General English.
Consolidate and expand general English language skills. Improve reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
Module 2 – Living and Studying in the UK.
Learn more about British culture and way of life while obtaining all the essential information needed for living and studying in the UK.
Module 3 – IELTS Preparation.
The IELTS preparation module helps students to achieve the score required for entrance to British universities.
Module 4 – Academic Skills.
Learn essential academic terminology and study skills such as: note-taking; summarising; reading strategies; oral presentations; research techniques; essay and report-writing; referencing; layout conventions; and exam preparation skills.
Module 5 – Information Technology.
Develop useful computing skills essential for studying at university such as: word-processing; using databases; creating powerpoint presentations; and presenting graphical and statistical data.
Module 6 – Specialised Subject Modules.
Students also specialise in the language and terminology required for the subjects of interest to them. This allows students to focus on any key areas of interest.

Entry Requirements.
- Applicants should have graduated from high school and have IELTS level 4.5 or equivalent.
- Students who have not yet reached an IELTS level of 4.5 may enrol on a general English course at the North West Academy before starting the Intensive Access Course.
