John Mc Gowan, (DIPM, MCIM, DMS, MBA, AIBA, AInstSMM) is the Managing Director of the North West Academy. He graduated from the University of Ulster, Magee with a postgraduate diploma in Management Studies followed by a master degree in Business Administration. John completed his Chartered Institute of Marketing exams in 1992 and is a full member of The Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. He is also SFEDI accredited for his delivery of business training and advice.

Carmel Fyfe (BA Hons, MA) is the Academic Manager (Director of Studies) of the North West Academy. She completed an honours degree in humanities combined: French; Theatre; and Media at the University of Ulster, Coleraine in 2001. Following her graduation she obtained the Trinity College London Certif
icate in TESOL and completed her post-graduate diploma and Masters in TESOL at the University of Ulster, Coleraine in 2004. Carmel worked as a lecturer in ESOL prior to joining the North West Academy in April 2006. Since this date she has also qualified as an Adult Literacy teacher and completed the English UK Diploma in ELT Management.

Francesca Giacomini (BA Hons, MA) is the Marketing Manager of the North West Academy. She completed her degree in Economics and Finance at the University of Parma, Italy and achieved the Master Diploma in International Business at Euromed Ecole de Management in France. Francesca is member of the Institute of Business Consultants in the UK. She started her career in Brussels working for an international consultancy house and moved to Northern Ireland to work as a Research Officer for European projects. Francesca joined the North West Academy in 2008.

Daniel Fulton is the academy receptionist and resident IT technician. He has been building, upgrading and maintain Personal computers for the last 7 years. He studied Forensic science and Chemistry (BSc) at the

Christopher McGowan is the Accommodation Officer. He has been working at the North West Academy since 2005. He is responsible for welcoming all our students and for arranging their accommodation. Christopher is responsible for ensuring all our properties are maintained to a high standard and also plays a valuable role in providing our students with 24 hour emergency support.

Rosalia Moretti (MA) is the Accomodation and Logisitc Officer. She acquired her Masters degree in Administrative Science. Rosalia was a Leonardo da Vinci student in early 2006 and did her internship at the North West Academy as an administrative assistant. Since then she has progressed to the role of Assistant Accommodation Officer. Rosalia is in charge of organising all arrivals and departures and deals with any administration work related to Accommodation. Rosalia speaks Italian and English and offers our Italian students valuable language support. She also plays an important role in supporting our Chinese students by dealing with all aspects of their welfare.
Leeanne Devine is the Training and Work Placement Officer at the North West Academy. She has eight years experience working in a training organisation where she was responsible for delivering NVQs (in Business & Administration), training sessions and qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy to individuals and groups. Leeanne is a qualified NVQ Assessor (D32/D33) and Literacy Specialist (9485) and has completed aBSc Hons degree in Business Studies from University of Ulster at Magee

Teaching staff:
Clare Heaney (BA) is an English Language Teacher at the North West Academy of English. Clare graduated from Queens University in Belfast with a BA degree in French and English in 1998. Following her graduation she obtained the University of Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults and is currently completing her Masters in TESOL at Queens University, Belfast. Clare has been teaching English at the North West Academy since February 2006.
Social department:
Aislinn Mc Devitt is the social Coordinator for the Academy. She is currently studying for her degree in business studies. Aislinn has recently participated in a scholarship programme which took her to China to study language and culture, she has also taught and studied TEFL in Asia.
